All students interested in joining FFA must pick up a student registration form from Mr. Shawcroft to fill out and dues are $10 paid in the office to Shelli. All FFA members must be in AG class to join the club. No Exceptions!  Last day is September 25.  Also, all first year FFA members must attend the BIG conference to be eligible for awards and other trips. Please sign up with Mr. Shawcroft TODAY.

Student council has established an academic letter. Requirements to qualify for the letter are to have a 3.5 GPA for the year and have no suspensions or expulsions.  If you qualified for this letter, you may purchase your letter in the office for $10.

Any student grades 9-12 who has completed a volunteer activity in the past 12 months may apply to become a Prudential Spirit of community award winner. To be eligible to receive this award of $1000 please apply online at spirit.prudential.com by November 7th. For more details, please stop by the counseling office.

The Christian College Fair of Colorado is being held October 2-5th at four locations in Colorado. Meet representatives from over 70 Christian colleges and universities. For a list of colleges, please stop by the counseling office.

Amount: $6000-$25000

Eligibility Requirements:

Graduate from high school in May 2018

Demonstrated financial need ($55000 or less adjusted gross family income)

US Citizen

Application Deadline: October 25, 2017

A representative from university of Northern Colorado will be here Monday September 18 at 1 pm to meet with interested seniors please sign up in the office.

This week will be national GEAR UP week. In hopes of bringing awareness to the gear up program we will have a GEAR UP Spirit week.

Monday: College t-shirt

Tuesday: dress in your Falcons gear to support our volleyball girls

Wednesday: Wear Colorado GEARUP colors (blue, green, white and black)

Thursday: Dress as a nerd

GEAR UP students be sure to check out the photo booth located in the GEAR UP office during lunch all week!

 Elks National Foundation Scholarship

The 2018 most valuable student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a US citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Application for the 2018 contest will be available online starting September 1, 2017. The 2018 MVS application deadline is November 27, 2017.

The 20 top finalists will participate in an all-expenses paid Leadership Weekend in Chicago during which they’ll interview with national judges. These 20 finalists will be vying for two first-place awards of $50,000; two second-place awards of $40,000 and two third-place awards of 30,000. The remaining 14 finalists will receive awards of $20,000. The 480 runners-up will receive fifth-place scholarships of $4,000.

Boys basketball open gym will be Thursday at 7 pm in CMS gym.

Students a few reminders about the parking lot First be safe! The speed limit is 10 mph. Yes that is slow! Second busses have the right of way in the parking lot never cut in front of the m or impede their path getting ot their routes. Remember parking here is a privilege that can be revoked if safety is compromised.

NHS meeting in Mrs. Parrish’s room at lunch

AHEC Career Exploration Program is for students interested in entering a health-care field.

This free program is a yearlong opportunity for 20 high-school students and their parents during the 2017- 2018 school year. (2 hours a month) After completing the at least 7 of the 8 meeting the students will attend a free week long summer camp help at CU Denver & Anschutz campuses for hands on experience in health care careers. A representative from Adams State University will be here on Thursday October 12th at 8:30 to meet with interested seniors please sign up in the office.
