With November amongst us, it brings the close to the fall sporting seasons and the winter seasons start up with practice.  All sports (Football Cross Country and Volleyball) had wonderful seasons.  The first official day of winter sports (Wrestling, Basketball) practice in November 12th.  Wrestling and Girls Basketball have the same coaching staff back but the Boys Basketball program has a new staff.  Ron Dunn, a former Falcon, will take over the head position after being the JV coach the past two years.  Randall Loch, former Alamosa player, will step in and work with the JV team.  Kyle Forster will remain as the "C" team coach.

The Falcons will host a varsity basketball tournament this year.  The "Mountain Top Classic" will be held at the Adams State University athletic complex in Alamosa.  The dates will be Dec 4, 5 and 6.  Glenwood Springs boys and girls, Ignacio boys and girls along with the Rye girls and Hayden boys will attend the games. The Falcon girls will play 3:30, 6:30 and 4:40 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday as the boys will play 5:00, 8:00 and 6:00.

November also brings in many tests for our students.  Seniors are taking the CMAS test on the 17th and the 18th while the Juniors are taking the ASVAB test for the military on the 19th.

Thanksgiving break will begin on November 24th and will conclude on November 28th.  School will resume on December 1st.

I hope all will have a good break with family close either in person or in thoughts.  The Centauri High School passes along their well wishes as well.

Centauri High School Principal
